This project is based on capturing the representationof someone by taking a picture of the bracelets they wear. The bracelet a person wears shows their personality, interests, and character. You see celebrities, recording artists, and even regular people wearing different bracelts that represent them in many different ways.

This topic interests me because I like to wear bracelets. The bracelets I wear each day represent the mood I’m in the for the day. Sometimes I wear different bracelets, but there’s always one that I never take off. This is the one that has the most meaning to me. That’s why I find bracelets so fascinating because they usually represent someone’s feelings or emotions.

The significance of bracelts isn’t usually that big, but they have enough signifigance for thought to be put into which ones you buy or wear. The different meanings can be in the color, design or material of bracelt. Usually, the emotions when seeing a braclet you really like, for me, is a type of jealousy because of the fact that the bracelet I really like is on someone else’s wrist rather than mine.

The colors of this photo are very bright due to the sun. The meaning of this photo is having fun. This is a picture of me in mid-air having fun during school. Isn’t that something?

The colors are very calm in the photo due to the scenery. I like this photo because it shows the water in vivid detail while in motion.

The colors in this picture don’t stand out because of where the picture was taken. I like this picture because it is very simple but can have many different meanings.

My favorite childhood is memory is going to watch Iron Maiden in concert. It was hardcore man, definately something I’ll never forget.

Beijing, 9 April 2013

The thing about my current position is that it requires me to get involved in a lot of issues about which I know absolutely nothing, or close to it. In a previous post I described a trip to Dali, in the province of Yunnan, where I went to discuss with the local government what could be done to increase markets for the prefecture’s walnuts. I am an ignoramus when it comes to walnuts but I can read up on the topic and learn enough to sound intelligent for half an hour’s discussion. But this afternoon, at the request of our Legal Advisor, I attended a meeting about the regulation of internet domains. This was fated to be one of those meetings where I understand the single words that people are uttering but find that when they string the words together it turns into gibberish. Luckily, someone…

Weird Things I Wonder About

You guys are probably used to my bizarre musings, but just in case the needle on the weird-o-meter hasn’t been pegged lately, allow me to give it a nudge.

I’m a huge classical music fan (as you no doubt know) so I’ve often felt sad thinking about people who lived before Mozart was born and never heard his music, or Handel’s Messiah, or Bach’s Brandenburg concertos. As a lover of words and devourer of books, I can’t imagine never becoming acquainted with Shakespeare, or Jane Austen. Of course the flip-side to that is: What are we going to miss that hasn’t happened yet? I  bemoan all the great books already written that I will never have time to read. I also regret all the great music yet to be composed that I will never hear. And I wonder how many geniuses, alive now or before we were born, are/were out…

My First “Best Photo”

My First Best Photo

I took this photo because I was fascinated by the water. I’ve always been interested in taking photos in motion. I felt like these photos had a lot of meaning because of scenery. I placed the falling water on the side of the photo. I composed this photo using rule of thirds. By using this, I feel like the quality of the photo improves very much. I think about simplicity and peacefulness. The meaning of being at peace with yourself and other people can be extracted from this photograph.

Mi Vida
